Hollie WoplinApprentice Receptionist
I’ve been coming to Salmon since I was five and half years old at 6-9s club. As I got older I started volunteering at Salmon on all the summer schemes and Easter schemes.
I did the Level 1 Youth Work qualification at college and a Level 2 in Childcare but I preferred youth work. I’ve always wanted to do youth work and I’ve always liked it at Salmon so when Jamie told me about the apprenticeship, I applied straight away.
I want to learn new things at Salmon and to learn more about the work. Even though it feels weird being a staff member now after being a young person here for so long, I’m looking forward to working with the different ages in club – especially the 6-9s, which is my favourite club.
I started in October 2018 as a Youth Work Apprentice and in January 2019 my role was changed to Apprentice Receptionist. I'm really enjoying this new role as I get to help people and deal with enquiries face to face and on the phone.
