Bermondsey in Bloom 2018

06/07/2018

The gardening competition you have been waiting for - Bermondsey in Bloom is back for another year!

We want to encourage those green-fingered enthusiasts to help make Bermondsey a year of colour. Let’s produce beautiful gardens, window boxes and balconies for the whole of the community to enjoy!

First launched in 2011, the Bermondsey in Bloom competition recognises efforts made by locals to keep Bermondsey looking “bloomin’ marvellous” in the summer months!

Over the next few months, young people from Salmon Youth Centre will take to the streets of Bermondsey with a camera and a sharp eye for good looking gardens.

There will be prizes and certificates for the top three entrants (decided by independent judges) in each of the following categories:

  • Balconies and window boxes
  • Pubs and businesses
  • Community gardens
  • Edible gardens and allotments
  • Estates gardens
  • Resident gardens

The competition is open to all Bermondsey residents who live in the following wards:

  • Riverside
  • Grange

If you think your fingers are green enough and you’d like to enter, download the entry form (top right) and email it back to us.

Or you can drop in to the Salmon Youth Centre and pick up a form from reception.

The closing date is Thursday 31st August 2018.

Nominations will be announced and displayed at the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Community Council meeting, date will be announced soon.
