Salmon Celebration Awards – 9th December 2025

The Christmas Salmon Celebration is always a special moment in our year. It’s an opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the incredible achievements of our club members across sports, arts and so much more. We also get the joy of watching our talented young people perform on stage—something that never fails to make us proud. We took the chance to say a heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers, staff and supporters who help make our work possible. Their commitment ensures that Salmon continues to be a place where young people can grow, thrive and be celebrated. This year, we were delighted to be joined by a special guest, the Mayor of Southwark, who handed out our member of the year award .

This year’s Member of the Year award goes to someone who truly embodies what Salmon is all about. Isabelle is, quite simply, excellent in everything she does here. No matter what’s happening around her, she never lets her standards slip. Her maturity, reliability, thoughtfulness, and brilliant communication make her an outstanding role model to everyone in our community.

Since 2023, Isabelle has completed her Duke of Edinburgh volunteering hours with us and continues as a young leader to this day. On Thursday evenings, she works wonderfully with the children, bringing energy, patience, and real care to every session. She represents Salmon with pride—welcoming visitors, including the Duke of Edinburgh himself—and has even appeared live on BBC News to talk about our work, carrying herself with the confidence and clarity of someone far beyond her years.

We are incredibly proud to recognise Isabelle’s huge contribution to the life and work of the Salmon Youth Centre. Her commitment makes a real difference, and we are deeply proud of everything she achieves.

Congratulations to our 2025 Member of the Year:
Isabelle Soetan-Balogun.
