Volunteers

Volunteers from different backgrounds help to run Salmon. Their hard work is an integral part of what makes the Salmon Youth Centre successful.

They work across all age groups, from 6 to 19 years, helping with the variety of evening sessions we provide during the week.

The varied life experiences of our volunteers help our young people to see new dimensions in what they can achieve and how to get there. Volunteers learn new skills in coaching, teamwork and managing which they can take back to their home and work lives.

In the last year, we had more than 30 volunteers give over 1500 hours of their time. They led a variety of different activities in our evening sessions and were involved in our day trips and residentials during the holidays. We have also helped to develop some of our volunteers by helping them to gain qualifications in areas of their interest.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and get to know the local community. It can also enhance your CV or improve your employment prospects.

All volunteers at the Salmon Youth Centre will go through an induction programme and are offered further training and support.

If you are aged 20+ and interested in exploring the possibilities of being an adult volunteer at Salmon, get in touch.
