Sponsor a young person’s creativity
Your gift of £100 will sponsor one young person’s participation in weekly art sessions for six months.
Bella has been a member of Salmon for over nine years. When she first came to Salmon as a young person, Bella suffered from low self-esteem and found it hard to articulate and express her ideas, so she asked workers to help her improve her art skills.
For around six years, Bella casually floated in and out of our weekly art sessions. With patience and encouragement, she slowly began to realise she had a talent for art, which she didn’t believe at first.
Bella became even more focused when she was asked to create a portfolio of works for her Art A-levels at college. With Salmon’s support and access to our resources, she successfully created a portfolio of good quality imaginative artworks and passed her A-levels.
Bella continued to attend Salmon’s art sessions after college and her work began to influence other young artists within the sessions. Today Bella has a solid body of artwork which is admired by all who have seen it.
In June this year, Bella took part in her first ever professional gallery exhibition. She continues to be committed and focused in art and is very excited to continue on this path.
Please donate to help more young people like Bella to express themselves and overcome their personal challenges through art.
